Here are several views of the painted Geschützen (guns). Now Pommern has teeth: she looks like a battleship. The tops of the 28cm Geschützeturme (gun turrets) were painted black on Kaiserliche-Marine warships, and it is believed that the only after the Seeschlacht am Skagerrak (battle of Jutland) 31 May-01 June, that the turrets received white circles painted on top for aerial identification. As Pommern was lost with all hands in this battle, no white circles were painted on the tops of the 28cm Geschützeturme (gun turrets). The hull requires some work, as I did not make the vision slits on both sides of the 17cm SK L/40 Kasematten (casemates) that you can see on the Aufbau (superstructure). So these will have to be added to the hull and that will require re-painting. Not a big deal, as there is enough re-work required that it will require re-painting regardless.
This concludes Part VI of the Pommern project. I am already well on my way towards the next update, which will be the completion of the hull or the ship's boats and cranes.
