Adding the "Foot" to the Gun Platforms The "foot" shape at the bottom of each vertical T-beam were cut on "The Chopper" and glued into place. Here is one of the Fore 8,8cm gun positions. You can see here the walkway that extends over the gun position on Pommern. Click Once To Enlarge

And the Mid 8,8 Platforms All gun platforms including the two Aft positions that face to the rear, received the "feet" on the vertical beams. Click Once To Enlarge

Aft Wall Supports A photo supplied by my friend Friedrich Prinz of the Schleswig-Holstein in 1909 showed something I did not expect; the Aft deck wall had the vertical T-beams, but rather than a foot at the bottom, they were supported by rods from the top which angled into the deck at an angle. Pommern and Schlesien probably would have had the same, so the first step was to add vertical T-beams to the Aft deck wall using a little jig so they would be evenly spaced. Click Once To Enlarge
