Not Bad!
After the primer dried, the entire structure was examined for mistakes and areas that I would need to repair. Overall, it looked not too bad; but it needed work.

More Putty
Once again, auto-body filler and putty was applied to all the rough areas. They were sanded, and then primer was sprayed on again. This was repeated at least six times until no flaws or sloppy work were visible.

Once I had convinced myself that none of my German ship modeling friends would be able to find any mistakes or errors, the entire structure was sanded with 220 fine sandpaper to prepare it for the paint. In difficult areas, I used 000 steel wool.

I could hear in my mind the voice of my friend Peter Lienau as I sanded for a week......." The paint job must be perfect Tony! A good model can be ruined by a bad paint Job!" So I sanded until it was perfect.
A Few Details
Once it was sanded, I added some of the details that I wanted on before I painted, such as doors, lockers, davits, and the rims that go over the portholes etc.
