| Master and Castings Fortunately, the 17cm Kasematten are not very complicated; but I needed 14 of them. So, naturally I made one perfect master and cast all 14. There was quite a bit of filing and sanding to clean them up, but it was worth the effort. |

| Drilling the hole for the Geschützerohr I left the back half of the master flat, as I had still not received the barrel master from Germany. This allowed me to cast them all as I was eager to see how they would turn out. Once I had the barrels made, I drilled a hole into this flat surface to accept the barrels. |

| 17cm Geschützerohr After I threatened to use brass tubing for the 17cm guns, my friend Peter Lienau offered to make me a proper 17cm Geschützerohr (barrel) master. Peter once again made a beautiful brass master, and all the 17cm casts turned out perfect. |
