An Unexpected Development
At this stage, the hull was looking quite good. Then in the mail, I received from my friend Peter in Germany the "Holy Grail" that had sought for this project. A copy of shipyard drawings of the SMS Deutschland made in May 1910 by R.M.A. Plankammer B III. Exact outlines of the hull, super structure, battery decks upper and lower, propeller and rudder layouts, ships boats, top and side views, with the accuracy of a professional drafting company. They were everything a model builder dreams of. The thumbnail to the right contains more than one view of these drawings.
