How do I Make Vision Slits? To make these, I measured ½ the thickness of the main top section of the casemate and glued strips onto it. Once the casemate is cut on the table saw in a jig, these will form the vision slits.

The Lower Battery (Gun) Decks, Aft I gave up with trying to make the hull fit the shipyard drawings by using calipers and a ruler, as I simply do not have the skill. So I used the direct route and glued the SMS Deutschland drawings directly onto a piece of 6mm aircraft plywood, cut the hull down to the correct height to accommodate this plywood, and screwed it on. This allowed me to sand the hull perfectly into profile with the template. I was then able to have a perfectly flat surface to glue the aft casemates onto.
