Maternity tunic of an RFC Observer. The tunic is a fine quality twill with silk embroidered rank pips and RFC Observer wing. The silk lining is a tan color and is unmarked. Note that this example has "lancer" cuffs and bronze RFC collar badges. This photograph and the next one are more tan in color than the actual tunic. The view of the collar badges below is the true color of the tunic. Sadly, the tailors label and name tag have been removed, most likely when the family who owned the tunic sold it.

A close up of RFC embroidered Observer's wing. The wing is silk on a black wool background.
Although the top button for securing the Maternity flap is black, it is original to the tunic. All the remaining buttons are brown. Note the hooks and eyelets sewn to the shoulder area for closing the front flap.
