Supports
Under both crow's nests were supports that were rather complicated, so one perfect master was built (the white one) and then a mould was made. Using the mould, 24 exact copies were cast. This photo shows the master, the mould, and the resin castings.

Disaster
It was just a matter of time before something went horribly wrong. I discovered three major errors in a row which is why the Aufbau update was delayed for over a month while I fixed the mistakes.

The first, and by far the worst, is that after I had glued all 24 cast resin supports onto both crow's nests with Cyanoacrylate (Super Glue), I turned them upright and realized to my horror that I had glued them on upside down! I had glued the long part going down, when the long part should be supporting the crow's nest. I could not believe that I had made such a stupid mistake. They would not come off, so I had to cut them all off and cast all 24 supports again. ARRGGHH!!
Gluing the Supports
With the new supports cast, (and using my brain this time) the supports were glued on right-side-up. I used a spare piece of the copper pipe for the main masts secured to a flat surface to ensure they were spaced and vertical.

The Finished Crow's Nest
Here is the Fore completed crow's nest. I was quite pleased and it looked very close to the original supports on the Deutschland class. It was worth the time spent to re-do them.
