Mounted Funnel Ladders
Here are the PLM Marinedetails ladders mounted on Pommern's front funnel searchlight platforms. Note how they correctly curve towards the platform at the top and are bolted on. You can see the funnel re-build due to the height error was successful, but in this photo it is only primed and not yet painted. Note also the lower strip of canvas along the bottom of the searchlight platform.

Mast Ladders
Examining period photos showed that Deutschland, Schleswig-Holstein Schliesen, used Steigeisen (individual steps welded to the mast) to get from each main tower 'crow's nest' up to the searchlight platforms. Hannover and Pommern, used a fixed ladder. This was actually a relief, as a ladder is much easier than drilling 20 or more holes in a straight line into the brass tube of the main mast for Steigeisen.

To attach the ladders, small brass rod was soldered into drilled holes on the main mast.

Mast Ladders Attached
Here are PLM Marinedetails ladders going from the main tower 'crow's nest' up to the searchlight platforms, also not yet painted, and only one searchlight has been detailed. You can see how PLM Marinedetails' new ladders are perfectly straight and true. And strong! I am clumsy and typically smash into everything I make at least once, and when I did, the ladders did not bend a bit.
